Bank Holidays in Brazil

Bank holidays in Brazil (feriados bancários) are set by the Central Bank of Brazil and published annually in BACEN circulars. The list includes Confraternização Universal, Carnival, Tiradentes, Labour Day, Corpus Christi, Independence Day, Our Lady of Aparecida, All Souls' Day, Republic Day, and Christmas. Federal banks are also closed on dates such as Black Awareness Day in many municipalities. The Holidays API returns Brazilian bank holidays for any year.

Returns every bank holiday observed in Brazil for the specified year. Use the country ISO code BR to retrieve Brazil bank closures.

Parameters

  • country  required

    Country name or ISO 3166-2 country code. Use BR for Brazil.

  • year  optional premium only

    Calendar year between 1980 and 2050. Defaults to the current year.

A JSON array of objects with the following fields, or an error if the request is unsuccessful.

  • name

    Name of the bank holiday.

  • date

    Date in YYYY-MM-DD format.

  • country

    Year of the bank holiday.
